Sticking with the UK and a superb uplifting piece based on the book by James Bowen. There’s a lot of substance to this solid feature from Ayoade, one of the biggest comedic and filmmaking talents to emerge from the UK in many years. Craig Roberts plays the role of 15-year-old Oliver, a boy who sets himself on a mission – to lose his virginity by the time he turns 16 and to break up his mother with an ex-lover. The film is perhaps one you may not have heard of, but the 2010 feature is absolutely one to add to your must-see lists if you haven’t managed to catch it yet. Over to the UK now and the superb Submarine from Richard Ayoade. Featuring a cast that includes Pam Grier (Jackie Brown), William Sadler as the grim reaper and a returning George Carlin, ‘Bogus Journey’ is great fun and indeed one to return to before we see Bill & Ted Face The Music in cinemas next summer. Released two years after the release of the original film, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, ‘Bogus Journey’ sees Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves) take on themselves – well, android equivalents – who have been sent from the future to take them out. With a third movie on the way, you may want to revisit the middle film in the legendary ‘Bill & Ted’ trilogy, Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey. The film features the voices of late Hollywood legend Burt Reynolds and Dom Deloise and remains a family favourite nearly thirty years on from its original release. If animation is more your thing then check out legendary animator Don Bluth’s superb 1990 feature about a dog who comes back to earth from heaven and befriends a child called Charlie, a unique little girl who can talk to the animals. Shot on a micro-budget compared to similar pieces, Edwards’ debut is a masterclass in modern low budget filmmaking and needs to be seen. Residing in said zone are the ‘monsters’ of the title, creatures intent on feeding on whoever gets in their way. T the film sees an American journalist named Andrew Kaulder (Scoot McNairy) tasked with shepherding his employer’s daughter across a Mexican ‘infected zone’ all of the way to the United States. Gareth Edwards is the man that directed the likes of Godzilla and the massive, and indeed first Star Wars spin-off film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, but before both of those he made a very low-budget sci-fi movie named Monsters which is an absolute must for genre fans. Please note, however, that the new YouTube free-with-ads movie service is only available in some countries. In this article, we look at five of the very best free films to watch on YouTube RIGHT NOW. The two big players are, of course, Netflix and Amazon Prime where a subscription will give you access to hours of content, but did you know that there are dozens of films available to watch (legally) on YouTube in all their glory? The new service rolled out on YouTube late last year and appears to have been very popular so far with all the films available in high-definition format. There are many choices of service to head to watch movies online these.
